Mr. Madaras and Mr. Dartley,
My name is Mark Seelen and am currently a Platoon Leader in the Diyala
Province, Iraq. I received some of your soccer balls via a departing
Psyops Team and we recently gave them out, along with some other
school supplies, to a primary school in the village of Tamim (about
10KM south of Balad Ruz and 50KM NE of Baghdad). Below I included some
pictures of the children with the balls and some of our soldiers
playing soccer with the kids. The kids loved the balls- we have some
more too and will be giving them out to other schools in the area this
month. I just wanted to get you some of these pictures to show how
grateful all the kids were. Thank you for providing us with a means to
make these kids lives better.
Respectfully,
1LT Mark Seelen
Platoon Leader
