I hope the photos come through this time!
I would love to organize this again in the Spring. Our plan is to also go into some of our team shops in the area, even our grocery store and ask to set up collection bins. One of the parents of a player is also involved with the women’s team at The University of Akron and took fliers to that group. I am running an in-door program with the coach of the Kent State University women’s team right now. He is also SSC Director of Coaching. I would like to put up collection sites there as well.
It seems like such a little thing on this end, to donate a soccer ball, but as I’m packing the balls up, thinking of the distribution on the other end, I was overcome. What an awesome way to touch those kids! We are all parents of kids no matter what country we are in. The interview on your site with the Iraqi father drove that home. You see how touched he was because we were able to do something for his kids! And to be able to help build the relationship of our soldiers with those communities…it is an awesome thing!!
Thank you again, so much, for all you do!!
Please let me know if there is anything more I can do to help!
