The PVSC U13 PUMAs held their championship celebration Jan. 15 at Trinity Reformed UCC, Collegeville. In addition to honoring the team's accomplishments on the field, the PUMA players, coaches and parents also spent some time preparing soccer balls to donate to Kick for Nick. Players gathered soccer balls throughout the season, and asked their opponents to do the same, to donate to the cause.

Pvt. Nicholas Madaras, while on leave from Iraq in 2006, gathered as many soccer balls as he could to bring back to give to the children in the Middle East. Shortly after he returned to Iraq, Madaras was killed, but his love for soccer and his desire to spread the love of the game to children in Iraq and Afghanistan live on through Kick for Nick, which has received more than 32,000 soccer balls since it began.
